Letter Writing Day, Durlston Castle, Belvedere Room, Saturday 3rd August, 10.30am until 2.30pm

On Saturday 3rd August, Durlston Country Park will be hosting The Handwritten Letter Appreciation Society up in the Belvedere Room to help continue our handwritten letter revival.

Between 10.30am and 2.30pm there will be the opportunity to put pen to paper while enjoying the stunning location that is the top of Durlston Castle.

The event is free (postage stamps available to buy if needed) and open to everyone, whatever age, although children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be pens, paper and envelopes to use as well as quills to try, stampers and stickers to decorate envelopes, and even a little postbox to post your letters in should you wish.

There is public transport to Durlston or a pay and display car park to use. To access the Belvedere you can use the swirly-whirly staircase, easy access stairs to the rear of the Castle, or there is a lift. Downstairs in the Castle is a lovely cafe and restaurant as well as a wonderful gift shop. Durlston Country Park is a beautiful nature reserve at the Gateway to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site crammed with stunning wildlife and looks out across the English Channel. If you are lucky you may just spot Bottlenose dolphins…

Hope to see you there!
