Postcard Fundraiser for the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Appeal

Going with the idea “do what you can where you can” I wondered if anyone would like to donate £5 in exchange for a postcard of the Letter Writing Shed written by the Founder of The Handwritten Letter Appreciation Society (me) which can be sent to anyone, anywhere in the world, to spread a little joy during these awful times, in aid of the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Appeal.

All proceeds (after postage – 66p for UK, £1.70 for overseas) will go to the DEC Appeal to help those fleeing Ukraine.

If you live in the UK you can also send a cheque made payable to “The Handwritten Letter Appreciation Society” to PO Box 9347, Swanage, Dorset, BH19 9BG.

If you can’t change the delivery address on PayPal and you want the postcard to go to someone else you can email me at thlas@outlook.com with the details.

I’ll write them as they come in but will send them altogether on Thursday 31st March. For GDPR and general peace of mind any names and addresses given will be deleted or shredded at the end of the month too.

To sponsor a postcard use the PayPal button here:

Alternatively if you don’t want a postcard but want to donate directly to the DEC Appeal via their website, click HERE for more information.

Thank you so much for considering sponsoring a postcard. Writing postcards is one thing I know I can do.

Are you still doing this? If so, I will contribute.

Want to also suggest this: I adore finding THE perfect greeting card (usually blank to write a message–of course!) and I’ve been purchasing cards created by Ukrainian artists. Just a teeny tiny way to help. I think of beautiful cards as “mini masterpieces of art.” You can find cards by Ukrainian artists (or, pictures of Ukrainian related places) at http://www.fineartamerica.com. I’m sure there are places in the UK selling them as well.
