I’m still on Cloud 9 from the wonderful shoutout and song dedication from Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys at the opening concert for Swanage Folk Festival last week. We first came across them several years ago and instantly fell in love with their music so of course I had to drop off a little wax-sealed letter back stage just to show our appreciation. For a giggle I enclosed one of our #PostboxSaturday badges and left the letter on a chair in the empty Green Room thinking “Someone will find that, I’m sure”. So you can imagine my delight when Sam came out on stage actually wearing the badge and then halfway through their set dedicated my favouritest song “If I Were A Blackbird” to me and The Handwritten Letter Appreciation Society. It was such a magical moment and was so lovely to catch up with him afterwards. I think I’ve been humming it all week…
